Here are the results from the SW Idaho Regional event held at BSU.

The Tournament of Innovation is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Invention Competition for students in grades K-12 to promote creative thinking and integrate all areas of STEM. Students in the K-8 division are encouraged to solve a problem with a device they invent or understand a scientific concept by designing an experiment and collecting data. Their results are then presented in poster form, including a model or diagram. The high school students are given more freedom and asked to deliver more. They can research and create their project around a topic from any STEM discipline. They also present in poster form, but then must defend their results in person. Students are encouraged to pursue a topic that interests them and experience the joy of STEM firsthand. Many science fair projects currently being conducted in school would meet the criteria for the competition.

-
The work must be the student's own; any help must be documented in the journal.

A free-standing display board and a journal must accompany the project.
-
Each project must include either a 3-D model or the actual invention/experiment itself.
-
Display space is limited to a 2.5 foot by 2.5 foot table top area and a 6 foot height. You may use the under-table space directly beneath your project, if necessary, but your project cannot extend into the walkway or intrude on other competitors' assigned display areas.
